Terms of use
This is a translation provided for convenience. The Hebrew text is the binding version: read the Hebrew version.
The KnessetLens site ("the site") presents information on votes and on committee discussions in the Knesset, on the parties and candidates on the lists for the 26th Knesset, whose elections will be held on 27 October 2026, and on bills. The site is operated by Dave Ben Dor and Adam Simonov. In these terms, "the Operator" and "we" mean whoever operates the site.
Use of the site is subject to these terms. If you do not agree to them, do not use the site. Also read the Privacy policy and the Accessibility statement.
1. General
1.1 The terms apply to anyone who browses or uses the site, on any device and by any means. Browsing the site constitutes agreement to the terms.
1.2 The terms are written in the plural for convenience and are addressed to people of all genders.
2. What the site is and what it is not
2.1 The site is an independent, non-partisan project, without advertising. It is intended to give the public convenient access to public information about the activity of the Knesset and about the elections.
2.2 The site is not affiliated with the Knesset, the Central Elections Committee or any party, list or candidate, and does not act on their behalf. Names of bodies and of people appear on the site for identification and information purposes only, and do not indicate any connection with them or their consent.
2.3 The site is not election propaganda and is not issued on behalf of any political entity. It does not call on anyone to vote or not to vote for any list. Showing a party, a candidate or a score on the site is not a recommendation and is not an expression of support or opposition. The site does not rank parties or candidates against each other.
2.4 The site measures positions on three axes of the CHES-Israel expert survey. The site is not affiliated with those who conduct the survey and does not act on their behalf.
2.5 The posts on X that appear on the site belong to those who wrote them. They are not the site's opinion, and showing them is not a recommendation or an expression of support or opposition. The site is not affiliated with the X platform and does not act on its behalf.
3. Permitted use
3.1 You may browse and use the site free of charge, for personal, non-commercial use.
3.2 You may share links to the site's pages and quote short excerpts from it, provided that you credit KnessetLens as the source and link to the source page.
3.3 Commercial use, copying a substantial part of the content or of the database, and large-scale republication require prior written permission. You can request permission at knessetlens@gmail.com.
3.4 This section does not grant any rights in third-party materials that appear on the site. Their use is subject to their own terms (see section 6).
4. Prohibited use
You may not:
- interfere with the operation of the site or of the servers or networks behind it, attempt to bypass security measures or break into our systems.
- use automated tools in a way that places a load on the site, beyond ordinary search engine crawling as permitted by the site's robots.txt file.
- open accounts automatically or in another person's name.
- present content from the site as if it were content of the Knesset, the Central Elections Committee or another official body, or alter content and present it as if it were the site's.
- use the site to mislead, to harm a person's good name, to infringe the rights of others or to act contrary to the law, including election law.
- present a questionnaire result as a poll result or as an election forecast.
5. User account
5.1 You can read the site's content without an account. An account is needed only to save the questionnaire answers and to see the result on a personal page.
5.2 You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for safeguarding access to the Google account you log in with. If you suspect that someone else has accessed the account, change the password or contact us.
5.3 You can delete the account at any time from the personal page. Deletion is final, and the answers cannot be restored afterwards.
5.4 We may suspend or delete an account that is used in breach of these terms.
6. Intellectual property and sources of information
6.1 The site's design, its code, the structure of the database, the texts we wrote, the analyses and scores we calculated and the name KnessetLens belong to the Operator or to whoever has licensed the Operator to use them. They may not be copied or used beyond what section 3 permits without written permission.
6.2 The information on votes, bills and committee discussions is based on information that the Knesset publishes to the public. The rights in the original information remain with the Knesset, and its use is subject to the terms the Knesset sets. The site does not show what was said in the discussions, and links to the Knesset's official transcripts.
6.3 The candidates' photos belong to their owners: the Knesset, the parties, media outlets and photographers. The name of the rights holder, the license and the source of each photo appear on the Image credits page. The photos are shown at a reduced size and in black and white. Anyone who wants to use a photo outside the site must comply with its license. If you are a rights holder and want us to remove a photo, contact us under section 11.
6.4 The ballot slips are the slips approved by the Central Elections Committee. The site uses open-source fonts under their licenses, as detailed on the credits page.
6.5 Posts on X: the posts of party members are copied from their public accounts on X as they were when collected, without change, and each post links to its source. The rights in a post remain with its author and with X. We show only accounts that we matched to a party member by name, and the match may be wrong.
7. Accuracy of the information and AI-assisted content
7.1 We strive to keep the information on the site accurate and up to date. However, it is collected from several sources and processed automatically, so it may be incomplete, delayed or wrong. Before you rely on a figure, check it at the source. Many pages have a link to the primary source.
7.2 Some of the content on the site was created with the help of artificial intelligence tools. The analysis of the committee discussions and the scores of the bills on the axes were determined with the help of a language model. The candidates' biographies and the descriptions of the parties and lists were written with the help of artificial intelligence, based on public sources. Such content may contain errors, omissions or inaccurate wording.
7.3 The scores on the axes are statistical measurements. There are three separate kinds of score: from plenum votes, from remarks in committees, and a combined score that is shown as provisional. They are calculated using the method described on the About page, from each candidate's activity in previous Knessets. The scores are not a fact about a person's views and are not a forecast of what a party or a candidate will do. A list or a candidate with no previous activity in the Knesset is marked "Not measured".
7.4 The data does not cover everything. The votes are from the 20th to the 25th Knesset, and the committee discussions are from the 19th to the 25th Knesset. The 26th Knesset has not yet convened, so the site has no measurement of activity in it.
7.5 Election details, such as dates, the candidate lists and the ballot letters, are published officially by the Central Elections Committee. If there is a discrepancy between the site and the Committee's information, the Committee's information is binding.
7.6 A post that was deleted or edited on X after it was collected may appear on the site in its earlier wording. The site does not track deletions and edits, and new posts reach it with a delay.
8. The questionnaire
8.1 The questionnaire presents 30 questions, and calculates from the answers your position on the three axes and the distance between you and the lists that were measured. The result is information only. It is not a recommendation to vote for any list, it is not a poll and it is not a forecast.
8.2 The result depends on the wording of the questions, their limited number, the method by which the lists' positions were measured and the answers you chose. Your position and the lists' positions were not calibrated against each other, so the comparison between them is an approximation. The decision on whom to vote for is yours, after you have also checked other sources.
8.3 Your answers are stored in your account and shown only to you. More details are in the Privacy policy.
9. Links to other sites
The site includes links to sites and services of others, for example to the Knesset website and to its transcript documents. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, their privacy policies or their availability. A link is not a recommendation.
10. Limitation of liability
10.1 The site and its content are provided "as is", without warranty as to their accuracy, completeness, currency or fitness for a particular purpose. We do not undertake that the site will operate continuously, without interruptions and without errors.
10.2 To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Operator is not liable for any damage, direct or indirect, caused by the use of the site or by the inability to use it. This includes damage caused by reliance on information or on the questionnaire result, and by any decision, including a decision on how to vote, made as a result of them.
10.3 This section does not provide an exemption from liability for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, or from liability that the law does not allow to be excluded.
11. Corrections and removal of content
11.1 Found a mistake? Is there incorrect information about you on the site? Do you believe that content on the site infringes your rights, for example copyright, privacy or your good name? Write to us by email at knessetlens@gmail.com and include:
- the page address and the relevant content,
- what you think should be corrected or removed, and why,
- how you can be contacted.
11.2 We will review every inquiry and respond as soon as possible. We will correct factual errors that are found, and remove or change content that is found to infringe the rights of another person. A score calculated using the method described on the About page reflects the method. We will correct it if an error is found in the input data or in the calculation.
11.3 Requests to inspect, correct or delete personal data are handled under the Privacy policy.
11.4 Requesting removal of a post on X: whoever wrote a post that appears on the site, and whoever the post harms, may ask us to remove it. Write to us using the contact form or by email at knessetlens@gmail.com, and attach the link to the post on X and the reason for the request. A post that was deleted on X, or that is found to infringe another person's right, will be removed from the site.
12. Privacy and accessibility
What information is collected about users and how it is used is set out in the Privacy policy. Information about the accessibility of the site and about how to contact us on the subject is in the Accessibility statement.
13. Changes to the site and to the terms
13.1 We may change the site, add content and features to it or remove them from it, or stop operating it, at any time.
13.2 We may update the terms. The current version will be published on this page, and a material change will also be published on the site. Use of the site after publication constitutes agreement to the new version. A change shall not apply to a dispute that arose before it was published.
14. Governing law
The laws of the State of Israel shall apply to the terms and to the use of the site, without regard to their conflict-of-laws rules.
15. General provisions
15.1 If a provision of these terms is held to be void or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in force.
15.2 If we do not exercise a right we have under the terms, this does not constitute a waiver of it.
