About

Antoine Shalhat: No. 104 on the list of Joint List for the 26th Knesset.

Antoine Shalhat is an Arab Israeli literary critic, translator, playwright and journalist born in 1956. He worked at the newspaper Al-Ittihad from the '70s and served as acting editor in chief from 1999 to 2001. From 2005 to 2006 the Shin Bet barred him from leaving the country, a ban that prompted a public protest petition. He is a candidate of the Joint List for the 26th Knesset, at No. 104 on the list. On 23 September 2026, the Central Elections Committee disqualified the Joint List, and on 2 October 2026 the Supreme Court unanimously overturned the disqualification.

The five committees with the highest attendance in the 25th Knesset. “Spoke” is counted from the committee sessions that were analysed. The data has no committee membership list, so this is attendance and speaking, not formal membership.

No attendance at committee sessions was found in the 25th Knesset. Anyone who did not serve in the 25th Knesset does not sit on committees, so there is no record here.
